1980: The IRISH in ENGLAND
Nationwide examined what it’s like to be Irish in England, with Terry Wogan and Maeve Binchy reflecting on their own experiences.
The programme looked at how the Irish in London lived on a dream. Some came over to England but never assimilated, while others decided to make it their home. Nationwide also visited the Irish Centre in London, a place which helps people to find their feet in the city.
