“We now have politicians who are receiving bomb threats”

Minster for Health Stephen Donnelly joined Kieran Cuddihy on The Hard Shoulder to discuss new legislation that passed through the houses of Oireachtas today.
Minister Donnelly says “The Safe Access Zones legislation will create a 100 meter safe zone around all health care providers, so that women who want to access termination of pregnancy services, and those providing the services, can do so free of harassment”
When asked if similar legislation could be proposed to create safe zones outside politician’s houses, the Minister for Health says it’s something we need to have a conversation around.
