Leo Varadkar turns Tables
Former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has turned the tables on Government ministers and become a prolific user of parliamentary questions in his new role as backbencher.
He has quizzed them on topics from reducing people’s medical costs, social insurance benefits to including sexual orientation as part of the next Census.
Although he was at the heart of power and decision-making at the Cabinet-table for years – until as late at early April when he stepped down – he is now resorting to one of the few ways a backbencher has to get information from government departments.
