Full Gallop in Middle Age, an Irish Racing Story.
Inspired by ITV’s Champions Full Gallop, I reworked my prevoius uploads into one full video. It covers my story of participating in an Irish National Hunt flat race for a Kidney Donation awareness charity (P.K.R.F). The video contains details of my motivation, training and experience of riding racehorses on the famous Curragh training grounds in County Kildare. It also contains details of the origins of the Thoroughbred breed, the American seat (now used by all jockeys), the unique invention of steeplechase racing by the Irish. My thanks to the O’Dwyer racing yard for their support, especially Connor & Charlie O’Dwyer, Ciara, John, Finn and Jamie for their help. My horse “Emir de Rots,” a nine year old gelding, was retired three races after mine. A perfect gentleman, he is now used as a lead horse in the O’Dwyer yard. #itvchampionsfullgallop #irishhorseracing #irishheritage #steeplechase Credit to : Primal Ireland – Stories of History & Culture
