Dublin residents are still being subjected to constant noise, dust and fumes from a construction site on their doorstep, two years after the project began. Ten tenants have spent the last two years dealing with the effects of the site outside their front door, including access issues, noise and air pollution. A small block of flats, Temple House was built in 1937. It is owned by Dublin City Council and located at Temple Lane North, Dublin 1, which connects two busy streets – Hill Street and Gardiner Street. Just a few metres away from Temple House, a 276-bed private student accommodation complex is currently being built by GEM Construction on the former Kennedy Bakery site on Parnell Street. One of the residents, Margaret McCarthy (65), who has lived in the area all her life, told the Irish Independent she “hates her home now” due to the “situation” the residents have been through. “I hate my home now. I cannot open my window on a gorgeous day to let some air into my home,” said Ms McCarthy, who lives with her husband Sean, and son David. Credit to : Irish Independent
