House prices up by a third since the pandemic

Housing inflation has hit an eight-year high, with the surge driven by Dublin and Leinster. Prices shot up by 3.7pc in the first three months of this year. But when compared with a year ago, prices are up even more. A typical asking price for a home is now €346,000, up almost 12pc on the previous year, according to the latest Daft.ie house price report. The price of a typical residential property is now more than a third higher than five years ago.
