House prices up by a third since the pandemic

Housing inflation has hit an eight-year high, with the surge driven by Dublin and Leinster. Prices shot up by 3.7pc in the first three months of this year. But when compared with a year ago, prices are up even more. A typical asking price for a home is now €346,000, up almost 12pc on the previous year, according to the latest Daft.ie house price report. The price of a typical residential property is now more than a third higher than five years ago. Daft.ie said the current rate of inflation in the market is the second highest seen in the decade since mortgage market rules were introduced. Credit to : Irish Independent
