How one leading Irish gin distiller plans to combat Trump’s tariffs

Owner of The Shed distillery in Drumshanbo, Pat J Rigney said 20pc trade tariffs are “significant”, with the US accounting for 35pc of the business. However, he insisted “innovation” and “Champions League” staff will see the company overcome any adversity. Drumshanbo was the nucleus of an idea over 10 years ago, but the Co Leitrim company has grown to dizzying heights beyond all expectations. As a rural Irish business, it is punching well above its weight and importing the fourth most popular premium gin in the US. The success is, of course, down to its innovative founders and dedicated 100-strong workforce. Video by Mark Condren Credit to : Irish Independent
