Humpback whale milestone in Ireland
The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) says the humpback whale has reached and passed an “important milestone” in Irish waters.
The milestone 100th and 101st individual humpback whale sighting happened last week as an IWDG team member captured photographs of three whales off the Blasket Islands in Co Kerry.
Humpback whales can be identified by unique markings on their tail flukes and dorsal fins.
