‘I’m preparing my country’ for Trump’s tariffs, says Ireland’s prime minister
In the first of Sky News’ leader interviews ahead of the Irish election, Fine Gael leader and Taoiseach Simon Harris speaks to David Blevins.
Mr Harris says his party is setting aside “significant funds” for any “economic shock” under Donald Trump’s presidency.
As president-elect Trump is threatening to impose tariffs on EU imports, the Fine Gael leader says he is “preparing” the country and “working with EU counterparts to prepare the EU for that change”.
