Minister Donohoe’s support for John McGohan
Paschal Donohoe on John McGohan: ‘He is somebody that works very hard at being a politician, who’s put his name in front of the people of Louth’.
When asked about whether McGohan should be allowed to run in the general election following him being accused of physical assault in 2018, the Public Expenditure Minister said it wasn’t for him to ‘second guess’ the legal proceedings.
The Co. Louth candidate was cleared of a charge of assault by the Dundalk Circuit Court in 2022, however, he was found liable in a civil case and ordered to pay Breen White €39,000 in damages.
