Spanish company set up three months ago awarded contract for international protection accommodation
The second floor of a nondescript, low-rise apartment block in a residential area of a seaside town in Mallorca holds the key to a multi-million government contract. It is the official address for a Spanish-based company – only set up three months ago with one director – that will make millions from the State for providing housing for asylum-seekers. It’s a world away from the 18th-century Palladian-style country house in rural Co Tipperary at the centre of fresh questions around the awarding of lucrative contracts for international protection accommodation. A multi-million-euro contract has been signed to provide refuge for 277 international protection applicants at Dundrum House Hotel in Co Tipperary. Credit to : Irish Independent
