These photos show why Liverpool is Ireland’s ‘second capital city’
Liverpool is often dubbed the ‘second capital of Ireland’ because of its large Irish émigré population and of course the long links with our neighbours across the Irish sea. In many way, you can’t go too far in the city without bumping into someone with a strong connection to the Emerald Isle. For decades, the city has celebrated our Irish community, local businesses, events and more. And ahead of St Patrick’s Day on March 17, we’ve delved into our archives to find these brilliant photographs. Credit to : Liverpool ECHO
