Shortage of Taxi Drivers across Ireland

Tommy and Muireann are joined by Broadcaster Aideen Finnegan to discuss the recent shortage of taxi drivers across the country of Ireland.
 
Aideen tells Muireann and Tommy that almost ten per cent of drivers leave the industry. She believes this is due to the pandemic some drivers took up other work, which allowed them time to re-evaluate their job and that many taxi drivers feel unsafe at night.
 
The National Transport Authority said we could see taxi fares increase by a massive 12.5% as the industry struggles to combat the cost of living crisis.
 
Muireann points out the dangers women face when trying to get home if there are no taxis around.
